Cinnamon Bats Recipe

Buddy Box Subscription & Cinnamon Bats
My kids absolutely adore monthly subscription boxes. We currently have two coming each month and were excited to receive a Buddy Box Subscription box this month! Buddy box teaches youth lessons about faith and builds character as children work together to learn about each month’s theme. Each theme is associated with a buddy and this month’s buddy was “Pat the Bat”

Pat’s mission was to help children understand that life can be filled with dark, spooky, and sometimes scary stuff, but when they remember that God is with them, there is no need to fear.  (Psalm 56:3, Isaiah: 41:10)

Those chattering teeth though! Hilarious. They took turns winding them up and wherever they stopped would be the scenario they’d discuss. They had so much fun trying everything out and talking about instances when they have been afraid of something and what they could do to receive comfort.

Kaylee and Ruby decorated a pillow that had a window in it to hold a message. The box came with a fabric marker, but they used some of their own, in addition, for more colors.

Our Buddy Box included treat bags and stickers for the kids to use in sharing this message with their friends. We filled a treat bag with one of their favorite snacks to share—cinnamon tortilla chips—and shaped them like bats in honor of their little friend, Pat. Here is how we make them in case you’d like to make a batch too!

melted butter

cinnamon and sugar

Cut tortillas into triangles or use a cookie cutter to make fun shapes.

Dip each tortilla strip into the melted butter.

Roll in cinnamon and sugar.

Bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes.

Hope you won’t mind if I say you have four beautiful children. As in our house, youngest is a girl also. I was divorced, met my hubs who married me with 3 kids, then we had one – our girl. We have 2 girls, oldest and youngest and two boys in middle 16 months apart. I feel so blessed.
Kids are so open to ideas and trying things, those surprise boxes must be so worth it in your home.
The older I get the more I wish could raise my kids again, experience living with them again. What would I do differently? So enjoy your wonderful kids every minute you can, we only get one shot at it.
    Have wonderful Fall week

Fun! And those look very tasty. I could go for a few right now as I am picking out a movie to watch tonight. I think the grandkids would love making these too. 🙂
