My dad took his life a year ago today. This sign, that my sister in law had made for each of us, is his handwriting. It’s a sweet reminder that he didn’t leave us because he wanted to hurt us. I went through so many different emotions when I got the phone call, and anger was one of them, but it didn’t last long. It was soon overshadowed by an overwhelming sense of love and compassion for him. I know he loved his family more than anything, and is finally at peace in the arms of the Savior.

The kids are all old enough to not mess with the mower, but even if it came close, it would gently bump into their leg, pivot, and go another direction.
