Here is an idea for a darling place card for you Thanksgiving table or just a fun little craft project to make with the kids next week! They are made with little wood ice cream spoons and come together in a matter of minutes. Use them as little place settings with snacks for the kids to much while dinner is being prepared. Since they are made from a little icecream spoon/stick, they also make fun little puppets. A fun craft to make while the kids are out of school next week or for a class party or a preschool activity. Ruby likes playing with her little turkey and walking around the house with it.
Turkey Puppet Place Cards
What You’ll Need:
card stock cut into feather shapes
card stock cut into beak and gobbler shapes
sticky thumb tape
wooden ice cream spoon
Attach your feathers to the backside of the spoon, starting with the center feather and adding pairs as you fan out. The sticky thumb adhesive is my favorite. We go through rolls of this stuff, especially my kids. No drying time, no sticky fingers.
Here is the backside of the turkey.
Turn over and add your eyes and embellishments with the stick thumb adhesive.
Add a name, if you wish and center your little stick puppet inside your snack cup.
Fill with treats all around the base of the stick so that your turkey stands on its own.
Make several more for your friends!
These would be fun to bring into a classroom party as well as a preschool activity!
You can find wooden spoons in packs of 50-75 for about $3 at Michael’s. I use them when I package up sugar scrub and had a bunch left over.
My cardstock papers are from the Autumn Harvest Collection from Bazzill Basics Paper.
I get my Stick Thumb Adhesive from Lifestyle Crafts
My snack cups are from Wholeport.
