This might just be the easiest recipe for kids to bake! 1 box of cake mix, 2 eggs, 1/3 c. melted butter and 1 bag of chocolate chips. Pat in a pan and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. These cookie bars are a fun spin on the traditional cake mix cookie recipe!
Mix wet and dry ingredients in a large bowl. You can also stir in a handful of nuts (optional).
Pat cookie dough mixture into a greased (sprayed with cooking spray or lined with parchment paper) 9 x 13 baking dish.
Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until the top begins to brown.
Cool 10 minutes before cutting.
Makes 15 bars. Store cookie bars in an airtight container at room temperature.

What other cake mix combinations can you use for these cookie bars?
Red velvet with white chocolate chips, lemon with white chocolate chips, Devil’s food with chocolate chips (mini peanut butter cups would be good too!), chocolate cake with peanut butter chips—the possibilities are endless!
Can you make cake mix cookie bars with oil?
We’ve made cake mix cookies (and bars) with both oil and butter. I prefer butter, but oil works too!
