14cupcakes
1tub vanilla frosting
food coloring
Reeses Pieces candies
Instructions
Arrange cupcakes on a round platter or cake stand. Make the shape as round as possible.
Pipe frosting around the perimeter of the cupcakes.
Pipe frosting onto each cupcake in a swirled pattern.
Smooth out frosting with a butter knife or spatula.
You will notice gaps in-between cupcakes. Pipe over them with frosting (in a swirl motion) or add a small dollop of frosting on top of each gap. Then smooth with a butter knife to blend in with the rest of the cupcakes. This will fill in any empty spaces.
Start with the brown candies and create a line down the center vertically and horizontally. Then fill in with the orange candies. Nice and close together.
Notes
If the frosting starts to get to room temp and seems thin while assembling the basketball cake, just place the cake in the refrigerator for a few minutes to firm everything up again.
