Equipment

Instructions

  • Set out a variety of unfinished pottery pieces. You can get these from Oriental Trading (1 dozen per package) or stop by your local craft store.

  • Each child received an apron, place mat, paper plate, and paint palette.

  • Paint pottery with acrylic paint.

  • Allow about an hour for painting and 90 minutes for drying (including the clear coat of spray paint at the end). If you are painting outside, it dries pretty quickly! I just like allowing a little extra time for kids who like to glob on extra thick coats of paint.

  • Have an area for finished projects to dry. A blow dryer speeds up this process.

  • Spray each finished project with a coat or two of glossy clear spray paint.
