Ingredients
2cupheavy whipping cream
1cupmilk
1/3cupsugar
1/2 teaspoonvanilla
2dropsred food coloringoptional
2 cupsfresh cherriespitted
2Hershey bars(or 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips)
Instructions
Combine heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla, and food coloring in a bowl. Stir.
Optional: Mash cherries until only a few chunks remain. This makes for a more smooth ice cream instead of having chunks from frozen cherries. Add cherries to mixture.
Pour mixture into ice cream machine and process according to manufacturer's instructions.While ice cream is processing, grate 2 chocolate bars. Pour into machine the last 10 minutes to allow chocolate to mix into ice cream.
Remove from ice cream maker and eat right away for soft serve, or transfer to a dish and freeze 3 hours for scoopable ice cream.
