Banana Nut Bars

Banana nut bars are crazy good! Full of banana flavoring with vanilla frosting and walnuts. An easy way to use up ripe bananas!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 egg
  • 2 mashed bananas very ripe
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup flour

Frosting

  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Topping

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  • Mix sugar, butter and egg together. add mashed bananas and vanilla.
  • Add in dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  • Spread batter in a greased 9×13 baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 22-25 minutes, or until toothpick inserted comes out dry.
  • Mix frosting ingredients together and spread over cooled banana bars. Sprinkle with walnuts.

One pan makes 12 bars and they are just as delicious the second day.
