Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 T. yeast
  • 1 T. honey
  • 1 T. malted/dry milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3-3 1/2 c. flour
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 c. melted butter
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp. Italian Seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Add yeast to warm water. Allow to proof (5 minutes or so, until it looks foamy). Stir in honey.

  3.  In a mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients.

  4. Add water mixture to dry ingredients and mix completely. If dough is sticky, add another 1/2 c. flour.

  5. Divide into 16 dough balls and roll out each piece of dough like a snake. Place on a greased pan. Let raise 20 minutes.

  6. Melt butter in microwave. Stir in garlic powdered and Italian seasoning.

  7. Brush breadsticks with butter mixture once BEFORE baking.

  8. Bake for 10 minutes. Brush with butter again, DURING the baking process.

  9. Bake another 10 minutes. Brush with butter once AFTER baking. For a total of 3 times.

  10. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese immediately after baking.

Recipe Notes

*NOTE: dry milk or malted milk works great. And if you don't have that you can leave it out. If just makes for a softer dough.
