Chocolate Sugar Cookies With Chocolate Buttercream

Ingredients
Cookies
1cupbuttersoftened
1/2cupshortening
2cupssugar
1egg
2teaspoonsvanilla
2 1/2cups flour
1/2cupcorn starch
3/4cupcocoa powder
2teaspoonsbaking powder
Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
1/2cupbuttersoftened
1/3cupbaking cocoa
1teaspoonvanilla
2 1/2cupspowdered sugar
3-4Tbspmilk
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream butter, shortening and vanilla. Mix until fluffy. Add sugar, egg and vanilla.
In a seperate bowl combine flour, corn starch, baking cocoa and baking powder.
Slowly mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients and mix until dough forms.
Use a cookie scoop to scoop dough onto ungreased baking sheet.
Roll each scoop of cookie dough into a smooth ball.
Dip a glass in sugar and press down onto each cookie dough ball to flatten.
Bake for 10 minutes. Let cookies stand on pan for 2-3 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.
Beat frosting ingredients together and mix until fluffy. Add more or less milk until your frosting is the thickness you'd like.
Spread frosting over cooled cookies.

Notes
If using salted butter, no additional salt is necessary for the cookie dough. If using unsalted butter, add a 1/2 teaspoon of salt with the dry ingredients in the cookie dough.
