Famous Amos Style Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon molasses
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Cream butter, brown sugar, and sugar. Beat until light in color and fluffy.
  • Mix in oil, egg, vanilla, and molasses. Add dry ingredients. Mix in chocolate chips.
  • Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Roll the cookie dough into TEASPOON-sized balls (not tablespoon).
  • Place on a cookie sheet. Note: You can easily bake 24 cookies at a time on a half sheet pan.
  • Bake cookies for 11-12 minutes. Cookies should be lightly golden.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet. They will crisp as they cool.
