Easter M&M Cookies

M&M cookies are color and just plain fun. M&M cookies made with pastel M&Ms in the shape of bunnies are even more fun! These cookies are so easy to make and are perfect for Easter. My youngest made to sure ask me to put one in his school lunch every day this week. How could I say no? A cute little treat to brighten any lunchbox.

M&M Bunny Cookies Are:

1: Easy to make! You don’t need any fancy tools or supplies. Just a knife to cut the M&Ms in half for the ears.

2: Perfect for Easter parties. Make 18 or double the batch to make 3 dozen.

3: A no-chill recipe. The dough is soft and delicious and be baked right away.

4: Easy to customize! We used white chocolate chips and pastel M&Ms for the best flavor, but you can use any add-ins that you’d like. Just make sure to use M&Ms on top for the bunnies!

If these M&M bunnies look familiar it could be because I used them on our Easter peanut butter cookie cups too! They make any treat Easter themed. Add them to cupcakes, sugar cookies, cookie bars or anything!

This recipe makes 18 Easter cookies, but can easily be doubled to make 3 dozen.

I used a mixture of pastel M&Ms and white chocolate chips. Once the cookies come out of the oven you can add bunny ears to any of the M&Ms that are sticking out of the dough and add a few more M&M candies on top for even more bunnies!

Almost too cute to eat—almost.

Easter M&M Cookies Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup melted butter (salted or unsalted butter)
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup pastel M&M candies for the dough (+ more for decorating on top)

How To Make Easter M&M Cookies

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Easter M&M and white chocolate cookie dough

Melt butter and let cool for 5 minutes.

Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into a bowl. Set aside.

Mix melted butter and sugars together in a separate bowl. Stir in the egg and vanilla.

Combine wet ingredients and dry ingredients and stir. Mix in white chocolate chips and pastel colored M&Ms. Scrape the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula.

Scoop cookie dough balls using a medium cookie scoop onto ungreased or parchment paper-lined cookie sheets.

M&M candies cut in half to use as bunny ears

Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes. While cookies bake, cut a handful of M&Ms in half using a sharp knife. These will be bunny ears.

Once the cookies come out of the oven press bunny ears into the cookie right next to any M&Ms that are sticking out of the cookie. If you don’t see a lot of visible M&Ms go ahead and press some into the hot cookies then add the M&M halves for ears.

Let cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire cooling rack.

I thought these turned out great! It was pretty hilarious trying to make them look as pretty as yours! It’s definitely key to make sure you strategically have some M&Ms on top when you put them in the oven to bake so that you just have to add the ears. I found myself rushing like a mad man to try to get the M&M ears on before the cookies cooled down too much. It was also oddly difficult to get them to cut in half evenly as well. Overall, they look Easter-ish and taste delicious. Thank you so much for sharing!

Katy, I’m so glad they turned out great! Yes, the cookies start to firm up quickly when you’re trying to add things afterwards! Glad it worked out for you!

The sharp knife was torturous. I pulled out my pill splitter and things went much smoother. Super cute!

Yours are adorable so maybe it’s just me, but my bunny ears did not stick to the cookies. My pastel M&Ms turned dark in the oven so they didn’t match the ears and a lot of them cracked. Ended up being a lot of work for not much reward. I don’t think I’ll make them again.
