Tips and Tricks
- M&M bunny ears. The ears are made by splitting M&Ms in half and placing them ontop of the cookies as soon as they come out of the oven. You don't have to cut the ears in half if you don't want to; you can press whole M&Ms into the cookies instead.
- Do not overbake the cookies. It's better to underbake the cookies slightly, then let them cool and finish baking on the baking sheet after adding the M&Ms on top.
- Work quickly. Work quickly to add M&Ms to the hot cookies. Once the cookies begin to cool, the candies won't stick as well.
Easter M&M Cookies Ingredients

- Flour: All-purpose or bread flour.
- Baking powder, baking soda and salt: For leavening and flavor.
- Sugar: A combination of white sugar and brown sugar for the best texture.
- Vanilla: for rich flavor.
- Egg
- White chocolate chips
- Pastel M&M candies: Some to dd to the dough (+ more for decorating on top)

How To Make Easter M&M Cookies

Step 1: Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
Step 2: Melt butter and let it cool for 5 minutes.

Step 3: Mix melted butter and sugars together in a separate bowl. Stir in the egg and vanilla.
Step 4: Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then stir.

Step 5: Mix in white chocolate chips and pastel-colored M&M's.

Step 6: Scoop cookie dough balls using a medium cookie scoop onto ungreased or parchment paper-lined cookie sheets.

Step 7: Bake cookies at 350 degrees for 9-11 minutes. While cookies bake, cut a handful of M&Ms in half using a sharp knife. These will be bunny ears.

Step 8: Once the cookies come out of the oven, press bunny ears into the cookie right next to any M&Ms that are sticking out. If you don't see many visible M&Ms, go ahead and press some into the hot cookies, then add the M&M halves for ears.
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days. This recipe makes 18 Easter cookies, but can easily be doubled to make 3 dozen.
Easter M&M Cookies FAQs
You can leave the white chocolate chips out of the cookies if you'd like, but I think they add amazing flavor, structure, and complement the flavor of the M&Ms.
When cookies come out of the oven and are still hot, they are soft and easily impressionable. Meaning, you can add extra M&Ms or chocolate chips on top, and they will stick to the cookie. Perfectly baked cookies will come out soft. Overbaked cookies will come out firm, and the M&Ms won't stick to them, so make sure to not overbake the cookies.

I thought these turned out great! It was pretty hilarious trying to make them look as pretty as yours! It's definitely key to make sure you strategically have some M&Ms on top when you put them in the oven to bake so that you just have to add the ears. I found myself rushing like a mad man to try to get the M&M ears on before the cookies cooled down too much. It was also oddly difficult to get them to cut in half evenly as well. Overall, they look Easter-ish and taste delicious. Thank you so much for sharing!

Katy, I’m so glad they turned out great! Yes, the cookies start to firm up quickly when you’re trying to add things afterwards! Glad it worked out for you!

The sharp knife was torturous. I pulled out my pill splitter and things went much smoother. Super cute!

Yours are adorable so maybe it’s just me, but my bunny ears did not stick to the cookies. My pastel M&Ms turned dark in the oven so they didn’t match the ears and a lot of them cracked. Ended up being a lot of work for not much reward. I don’t think I’ll make them again.

These are so cute - I can’t wait to make them.
