Butterfingers are one of my favorite treats, and these homemade Butterfingers are kind of dangerous. I don't really care for candy corn, but I'll buy a couple of bags during Halloween season just so that I can make these! It's been 9 years since I originally shared how we made homemade butterfingers.

Ingredients
- 16 oz candy corn (1 bag)
- 16 oz. peanut butter (1 small container)
- 16 oz. milk chocolate chips or chocolate candy melts
Instructions
- Microwave the candy corn in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals, stirring in between each interval, until smooth and melted. This will take about 2 minutes.
- Stir in peanut butter with a sturdy (wooden) spoon. Scrape sizes of the bowl with rubber spatula and work quickly because the candy corn mixture will start to cool and harden.
- Line a small baking dish (8" x 8") with parchment paper and spread mixture in baking dish. Refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes.
- Cut peanut butter and candy corn mixture into bit sized squares. Refrigerate until ready to dip in chocolate.
- Melt chocolate in 30 second intervals in microwave. Stir between each interval. Dip squares into chocoalte, tapping fork against the bowl so that the excess can drip off.
- Place butterfinger bites on baking sheet lined with wax or parchment paper and refrigerate or freeze until hardened, about 15 minutes.

Oh my gosh! I made your Twix candies and they were out of this world but this recipe? I just can't describe how good this is! I loved it when I went to cut them up into the squares and you could hear tthe crunch that a butterfinger bar has! It tasted so good. I might not give any of these away and will hide them for myself! Your recipes are just the best!!! And so try to the flavor.

I have a question can you freeze candy corn to make this recipe later
Brandy says
I’ve never done that, but I don’t see why not!

Are these more creamy then hard? I love butterfingers I just don’t like how hard they are I’d rather have a creamy version
Brandy says
Hi! These are hard, and not as crisp as butterfingers. A little more dense. I’m sorry!

Word of caution! The candy corn is scalding hot! I underestimated it and some splashed out and burned my hand. Really bad second degree burn! So id suggest wearing rubber gloves to avoid a bad burn! I can forgive this recipe because they are so good just be careful

I love this! I made this last weekend for my sister in law's birthday and everyone loved them. I just have one question. How the heck do you clean off the melted candy corn? The first time I didn't soak the (plastic) bowl in water right away and I scrubbed and rubbed for a good 20 minutes before I finally got it all off. This time I'm soakingthe bowl in hot water but iit's still pretty stubborn? Any tips on cleaning the candy corn aftermath?? Thank you!
Brandy says
I just soaked it in warm soapy water, but it was still a pain! Glad yours turned out great and sounds like they were a hit!! 🙂
