Ring in the new year with a fun New Year’s Eve fondue party for kids! With delicious recipes for cheese and chocolate fondue with all the fixins’ it’s sure to be a hit this year!
When I was 18 years old I flew out to visit some friends out of state and stayed with my aunt and uncle. It was such a fun trip. I got to spend New Years with them and visit with my cousins. My aunt made a cheese fondue for dinner one night and I loved it so much that I made it for my parents when I got home. It is such a fun dinner and now that I have kids of my own we still enjoy dusting off the fondue pot and making our favorite dips!
We are actually going to have a fondue party with the kids this year for New Years and I can’t wait! I haven’t taken photos of the party (since it hasn’t happened yet) so I’ve collaborated with my friends at Evite to share photos from one of their recent parties! Everything tastes better on a stick—or maybe it’s just more fun to eat food off of a stick! Fondue is a great way to give kids a bit of independence in creating their own appetizers. My kids also love kebabs and this summer kebab party was a lot of fun to put together. Everyone made their own kebabs and they were grilled to order!
New Year’s Eve Fondue Party for Kids
Fondue is such a great kid-friendly dinner and activity. My kids love being able to be independent and especially like having a little buffet of items to choose from instead of me handing them a plate with food on it.
This cheese fondue recipe skips the white wine and calls for mild Monterey jack to appeal to kid palates (just save it for kids 4 and above, as melted cheese, fondue pots, and pointy skewers can be safety hazards for younger children). It can be served warm in a bowl and eaten immediately or last all party long in a fondue pot set on low. You can find the recipe here on Evite’s party website.
Two ingredients are all you need for this show-stopping dessert kids and adults alike will love (just save it for kids 4 and above, as fondue pots and pointy skewers can be safety hazards for younger children). The chocolate fondue can be served warm in a bowl and eaten immediately or last all party long in a fondue pot or fondue fountain set on low. You can find the recipe here.
I’m loving all of the details in this darling New Year’s Eve themed party! The paper medallions, sparklers, beautiful food spread, and this sign. It cracks me up and gives me flashbacks to the 90s.
You can find all of the details for this fun themed party at Evite, including a free printable invitation to host your own fondue party! Happy Holidays!

Hey – I love your sign that you made. How did you make it? Is it vinyl or just stickers? I have one of those frames from IKEA and I wanted to give this as a gift. Thanks!
Hi Maria! I actually didn’t make the sign, I shared the photos from E-vite. I’m thinking it may have been vinyl though!
