    Homemade Wedding Gift Ideas

I put this gift together for my brother Cody, and his new wife, Brooke.  I try to go the homemade route whenever possible and wanted to come up with a gift that was personal, yet very practical for this young couple.

Using the techniques in this post, I made an acid etched casserole dish as well as a large treat jar for their kitchen.

Using the technique found in this post, I made a soap bottle for their kitchen as well.

Then I added some of my favorite fabric to some white kitchen towels by simple sewing a band across the bottom of each towel. I machine quilted along the white vertical design so that they didn't bunch up or look wrinkled after being washed many times.
Finally, a few boxes of cake mix and frosting and it was complete!

What a great wedding gift idea! Now, if they bake someone goodies, the dish won't disappear since their name is on it!

Can you tell me exactly how you did the dish towels? That is exactly what I've been wanting to do so that I can personalize my towels a little better. And also to make some match my awesome placemats you made me! Thanks!!!

This is probably a stupid question. But what do you mean by machine quilted along the white design? Obviously, I do not know a whole lot about sewing!
