Nail Polish Washer Necklaces
These nail polish washer necklaces are such a unique craft to make! Simply paint a metal washer with nail polish and let dry. Use different colors to create patterns. A great camp project for teens!
Yield: 1 necklace
Cost: $1
Equipment
- scissors
Materials
- metal washers
- nail polish
- cording for necklace
- toothpick optional
Instructions
- Paint each washer with nail polish.
- Use a toothpick to add swirls or other fun designs.
- Let dry completely.
- Paint back, if desired.
- String a long piece of cording through the washer hole to create a necklace.

I'm thinking about using this idea at our upcoming ladies retreat at church. My husband is going to beat them with a ball ping hammer so I think the designs will look great painted. Possibly add a charm or even a small washer. The possibilities are endless

Can you use that finish that dries like a glass bubble over the dried polish?

Hi Pam! I haven't tried using that before. The nail polish holds up really well, but it might be worth trying a few to see how they turn out with the clear coat. You're referring to an epoxy coating right?

Do you paint both sides of the necklace or just the front with nail polish?? Thanks in Advance

Just the front, but I guess it's up to you! If you painted the back you could wear it either way. 🙂

What kind of cord did you use? Did it have a clip or was it just tied? Thinking of making these for our shoebox gifts for Operation Christmas Child.

Hi Shauna! That's a GREAT idea. We went and picked up our boxes today for Operation Christmas Child so that we can get started. For the washer necklaces, I just tied a knot.
