Looking for a delicious holiday snack? How about a fun addition to a holiday cookie box? These pretzel trees are the perfect combination of sweet and salty and are EASY to make. I make mine with pastel colors which gives them a winter wonderland appearance.

White Chocolate Pretzel Trees Are

  1. Easy to make: Under 30 minutes start to finish.
  2. Inexpensive: Pretzel sticks and almond bark are both affordable ingredients!
  3. Easy to Customize: Make them any color you’d like and any sprinkles you’d like.
  4. Have a long shelf life. If stored in an airtight container, these pretzel trees will stay fresh up to 3 weeks.

Pretzel Tree Ingredients

Almond Bark

You can make these out of almond bark, white melting candies, or white chocolate chips. You can purchase candy melts in any color of the rainbow or tint your own.

Pretzels

Mini pretzels sticks are what you’re looking for. You can make larger pretzels with mini pretzel rods, but it would take a lot more candy to cover them and they’d be a lot larger trees.

Pretzel tree Sprinkles

I love using these mini white candy pearls. They look just like snow!

How To Tint Almond Bark

One 24 oz. package of almond bark will make 36 pretzel trees. I cut my almond bark into squares, melt it in small bowls, and then tint it with food coloring. Now, you can’t just start tinting it with any kind of food coloring willy-nilly or it will seize (get chunky and unusable).

I use this kind of Wilton gel food coloring. For whatever reason it works the best and, when used in small amounts, won’t cause your candy to seize like other types of food coloring. You can also use Wilton candy coloring which is made just for this type of recipe. DO NOT USE anything that is water based like regular food coloring, or most gel food colorings.

I dip a toothpick into the coloring and then stir it into the melted almond bark. For pastel colors, a little dab will do ya.

If making multiple colors of trees, divide melted candy into ziploc baggies. Trim corners and drizzle back and forth over the pretzel base, starting at the top and working your way to the bottom.

Add sprinkles, if desired. Allow pretzel trees to stand until set, about 20 minutes.
