Favorite Double Chocolate Chip Cookies (Video)

Chewy and loaded with chocolate, these double chocolate chip cookies are heavenly! Is it a cookie or a brownie in cookie form? You choose.

If you like these cookies you’ll LOVE our peppermint version, dipped in white chocolate. Another super chocolatey recipe is our fudgy pumpkin chocolate cookies.

Watch our step by step video!

These are my son’s favorite cookies. He’s 4 and calls them “black cookies with chocolate chips”. Double chocolate chip cookies. Is there anything better? So chewy, soft, and delicious. Reminds me of a fudge brownie, only in cookie form.

These cookies get their abundance of chocolate flavoring from chocolate chips and cocoa powder. Unlike some cocoa powder recipes, these are fudgy in texture and not dry at all. Perfection.

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Combine melted butter and cocoa powder. Stir until smooth.

Step 2: Cream brown sugar and white sugar with the butter/cocoa mixture.

Step 3: Add eggs and vanilla.

Step 4: Stir in salt, baking soda, and flour.

Step 5: Mix in chocolate chip, reserving a few for adding to the top of the cookies later.

Step 6: Chill dough for 30 minutes.

Step 7: Scoop dough onto cookie sheets. Press extra chocolate chips onto the top of each cookie dough ball, if desired.

Step 8: Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes. Let cookies cool for 5 minutes on the pan before transferring to a wire rack.

This recipe makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies. Because they are so soft and chewy, I recommend storing them in a container in a single row or two, not stacking them in a cookie jar.

I don’t decorate for Valentine’s Day (still re I don’t decorate for Valentine’s Day (still recovering from Christmas 😂), but I always have holiday candy on hand! This year I filled the jar with petite sour hearts after hearing how amazing they are from @triedandtruemoms. They were right, we are all fans over here! Maybe more places will stock them now that they are in such demand. I ordered mine from @candynationusa (don’t waste your time looking on Amazon. They are charging twice as much for less candy).

Today we made our favorite green smoothie. It’s all about balance—-just kidding. We all know that’s a lie. I have like 10 healthy recipes on my site and 800 breads and desserts. 😂

Tip: when buying produce, buy extra to freeze. I buy an extra pineapple, an extra package of grapes, an extra bunch of bananas and an extra bag of spinach and freeze them for smoothies. I slice everything up and freeze it on baking sheets then bag it up. It makes it easy to grab a handful to toss into a blender. You can freeze entire bags of spinach too and add a handful to smoothies. I always blend my spinach and water first then add the rest of the fruit. No little spinach chunks in the smoothie that way. 🙌🏻
