    Summer Kebab Party

    June 17, 2016 By Brandy 22 Comments

Summer Kebab Party! The perfect outdoor meal to enjoy with family and friends. Provide a variety of meats and veggies for guests to create their own kebabs and then grill to perfection. This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Soy Vay and Clorox.

When summer comes we are usually found outside enjoying the sun and gorgeous weather that comes with it. We kicked off summer this past Memorial Day weekend by setting up our brand new backyard waterslide and having an outdoor kebab party! It was such a gorgeous night. We found ourselves hanging out far into the evening, visiting, and watching the kids play their hearts out.

One of my favorite ways to entertain is to serve meals that guests can customize themselves. Fun for them and less work for me! Since we were planning an outdoor party, kebabs just made sense!

I served a platter with fresh fruit kebabs that I had prepared earlier in the day, but the fun part was the kebab bar, complete with marinated meats and fresh vegetables!

Pineapple, red onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms are all perfect for grilling.

Slicing the vegetables and meat took all of 10 minutes to prepare.

Then I marinated the meat in Soy Vay Veri Veri teriyaki marinade while the charcoal briquettes heated up!

Is it lazy to put the guests to work? I don't think so! This way even the pickiest of eaters can create a kebab that they'll enjoy. Don't like mushrooms? No sweat, leave them off! Want a kebab with only chicken? Go for it! Many of the kids preferred a meat only kebab with a fruit kebab on the side. I like my kebabs nice and colorful with loads of veggies.

When working with uncooked meats it is important to take extra care to wash hands after touching the meat. I set out tongs for guests to use when picking up the chunks of chicken and beef and it worked out perfectly. I also had a container of Clorox Disinfecting wipes within reach for any drips.

My husband manned the grill so that the younger guests wouldn't get burned, while the adults added their own kebabs to the grill and cooked them to perfection.

We kept the coals going for anyone who wanted seconds, or thirds!

Now that school is almost out for the summer, I am looking forward to many more outdoor gatherings with family and friends.

Right? My kids love these, even my little one who often doesn't care for meat. It's always better on a stick!
