Watch our step by step video!
We have a couple of baskets of felt and fleece scraps, perfect for projects like this one. This stuffed bunny comes together in about 10 minutes. Super simple and a great beginner sewing project for kids (just 2 straight lines!).
Don’t have fabric lying around? No problem. You can use a sock!Â
You can add a face to your bunny if you’d like. We’ve used puffy fabric paint or glued buttons on ours in the past. You can fill them with fabric scraps, pillow stuffing or mismatched socks! We like making smaller felt ones for Easter and filling them with candy. We have a carrot version as well!

Welcome! I'm Brandy, mother to 5 darling kiddos and a cute black lab named Toby. My husband is in the Coast Guard so we've lived all over the place, turning each house into a home. I love baking, sewing, making cute things with my kids, and sharing what I've learned with all of you!

I did what Mary W did with the ears too, except I just used a straight stitch (the fleece doesn’t ravel). I modified the size to a 10×11 rectangle, which makes the bunny ~4.5 x 9.5—a great size for a “stuffie” in the OCC Shoeboxes. My 8- and 10-year-old granddaughters and I have made over 400 of these in the last 2 years. Thank you so much for sharing this pattern.
Brandy says
400?!? That’s incredible!

hi., I am in a creative slump and wanted to make something quick and easy for the grands for Easter and saw your cute bunnies. Perfect, great idea. I actually went really small since I have to mail them and did 6″ x 8″. Also thanks for the video.
Brandy says
That size would be adorable!! What a sweet little gift to send to grands!
Claudia Krauss says

CK
Brandy says
Hi! It was purchased from Joann Fabrics probably back in 2010. I’m not sure what it was called, I’m sorry!
Mary W. says
Super cute and easy. Before I added the rubber band I sewed a zig-zag stitch in the shape of two bunny ears and trimmed down the fleece. Thanks!

Brandy says
Right? Aren’t they so fun to make! I bet a local hospital would be happy to hand them out to children. Our church makes little teddy bears to donate to hospitals. 🙂
Theresa says
Those are so cute!!!!! My daughter will love making them. They could also be used as gifts and have candy inside.
Brandy says
Yes! They’d be perfect for candy! 🙂
Jeannine says
I wonder if filled with rice it could be used as a heat pack to pop in the microwave when the child is cold?! What do you think?
Brandy says
Absolutely! I’ve made fleece rice bags in the past and they work great!
Aunt B says
