Ruby’s preschool class was learning about birds last week which was perfect for this time of year! These cute spring chick pops were fun to make and she was so excited to bring them in to share with her 6 little friends. We’ve made Oreo pops a few times (and find them much easier than cake pops!). They are so tasty!

You can make these Oreo pops in any animal you’d like. How cute would they be decorated as penguins, polar bears, pigs or puppies?

Supplies:

melting chocolates

lollipop sticks

waxed paper or parchment paper

baking sheet

sprinkles

Instructions:

Step 1: Melt a bag of yellow melting chocolates in a microwave or using a double boiler.

Step 2: Open an Oreo cookie.

Step 3: Dip a lollipop stick into the chocolate (or add a small dab onto the cream part of the cookie) and place the stick in the center and sandwich the cookie back together.

Step 4: Allow to set.

This will secure the lollipop stick into the center of the cookie for stabilization. Once the chocolate hardens, the lollipop stick will be secure and won’t slide around.

Step 5: Spread/spoon the Oreos with melted chocolate until completely covered.

Step 6: Set on a baking sheet that has been lined with waxed paper and decorate them before they harden.

Super easy! I love these ones that Ruby decorated. She did a great job and couldn’t wait to sample them!

Tips for making chick oreo pops:

Spread or spoon the melted chocolate over the Oreo pop instead of dipping.

Work quickly when adding the candies before the chocolate hardens.

Use sprinkles for eyes and Reese’s Pieces for the wings and feet!
