I only requested one thing to be served at our wedding reception. Everything else just a bonus. That one thing was my Grandma Eva’s frozen fruit punch. She made it for Christmas dinners, Thanksgiving, my aunt’s weddings, and usually had a mason jar or two of it in her freezer for special occasions. I love that it uses fresh bananas. Many punch recipes only include fruit juice, but the blended bananas add a creaminess to the punch that sets it apart.
I asked her for the recipe, but somehow over the years and changing computers, etc. the file became corrupted and I couldn’t open it. So I turned to my aunt and she gave me the recipe. Now I can make it for my family, and it is just as good as I remember it being. Refreshing, tangy, and fizzy.
The recipe is basically equal parts of all juices and then mix with 7-up, but for a reference, I shared the measurements that I used the last time that I made it. Make it the night before you plan on serving it so that it has time to freeze. Then let it thaw on the counter until it is slushy and break it up with a spoon. Serve with equal parts lemon lime soda for the most refreshing fruit punch EVER.

Notes

How many people will this frozen fruit punch serve?

Because you are using equal parts of juice and soda, you can customize this recipe to suit your needs. 1 serving = 1 cup, so you can get at least 12 servings from the measurements above.

Can you use juice concentrate?

You can use frozen concentrated juices, even blended ones (orange and pineapple). I like using orange juice (concentrate or fresh from the refrigerator section) and canned 100% pineapple juice, found in the juice aisle at the grocery store.

Can you use something other than lemon lime soda in this recipe?

Ginger ale would be fantastic as well as grapefruit sodas.

This kid knows a good thing when he sees it. Anyti This kid knows a good thing when he sees it. Anytime my camera and tripod go up, he’s right there waiting. Today we made our favorite green smoothie. It’s all about balance—-just kidding. We all know that’s a lie. I have like 10 healthy recipes on my site and 800 breads and desserts. 😂

Tip: when buying produce, buy extra to freeze. I buy an extra pineapple, an extra package of grapes, an extra bunch of bananas and an extra bag of spinach and freeze them for smoothies. I slice everything up and freeze it on baking sheets then bag it up. It makes it easy to grab a handful to toss into a blender. You can freeze entire bags of spinach too and add a handful to smoothies. I always blend my spinach and water first then add the rest of the fruit. No little spinach chunks in the smoothie that way. 🙌🏻

A great project to work on during Christmas break. She’s making herself a pink one after Christmas. We bought several colors of bulky yarn at Walmart for $2.97 each. Each skein makes 1 hat. Tomorrow is all about gingerbread cookies for Sant Tomorrow is all about gingerbread cookies for Santa (although the Santa who comes to our house prefers sugar cookies. He can share these with Mrs. Claus). Ruby has them all picked out—-gingerbread boys, gingerbread girls, and ninja-bread cookies. Should be fun. Had to go out and get more molasses and it wasn’t easy to find! Everyone else must be making gingerbread, too!

Gnomes and llamas made their way to our Christmas Gnomes and llamas made their way to our Christmas cookies this year and I’m wondering why we didn’t use them before! So cute ($1 at Target). My 9 year old decorated most of the cookies that you see in this photo. I taught her how to use a piping bag, a star tip, and a round tip last year and she hit the ground running. Check out our stories for 6 cookie tutorials for kids using the same frosting tips!
