I wanted to send one to my sister as well, but I wanted it to be a secret so I didn’t ask her what kinds of fabric I should use, or have her kids pick out fabrics. I was also on a time crunch since I didn’t really allow myself a lot of time to make it, but that’s ok. I went with a simple pinwheel pattern that is so easy and comes together very quickly.

I know this is an older post but I just love the quilt! Do you recall if you used warm and white as batting? I actually scoured Etsy and found a layer cake of the Winterberry and bought it! Now I can’t wait for next Christmas! Thanks in advance for advice on what kind of batting to use.

Hi Stephanie! Thank you so much! I did use warm and white for the batting. I love how it quilts up and gets all crinkly after coming out of the dryer!
How did you quilt this? Did you start in the center row or from one of the edges?
I started from one of the edges and stitched (quilted) along the seams in straight rows.

Hi! The link that I had in there no longer exists. I guess the blog isn’t around anymore, but here is a video on how to make pinwheel quilt squares! You can make them any size you want. I used 38 colored squares and another 38 white squares. It resulted in a 7 block by 10 block quilt (62″ x 86″) with a few blocks left over. Here is a video on how to make pinwheel quilt blocks.
