Meltaway crunch bars are better than any store-bought candy bar! Peanut butter, chocolate milk chocolate, and Rice Krispies cereal. Crispy, chocolatey, and melts in your mouth.

    Meltaway Crunch Bars

Have you tried our peanut butter meltaway cups? I make them in mini cupcake liners and they are the perfect bite-sized treat. They literally melt in your mouth!  It got me thinking about other variations to make. Cue meltaway CRUNCH BARS.

Now these aren't to be confused with Nestle crunch bars. These have peanut butter in them. If you want authentic Nestle bars you can melt down milk chocolate and stir rice krispies into them. That would be delicious too, but I like the meltaway texture that the peanut butter adds. If you want these even crunchier you can use crunchy peanut butter!

I added Rice Krispies cereal to the mixture and then spread them on a cookie sheet before chilling and cutting them into bars. One recipe makes 16 bars!

    Crunch Bar Ingredients

I'll share the ingredients that I used, but you can mix and match chocolates to create any variation you'd like! Milk chocolate, semi-sweet, peanut butter chips, butterscotch chips, dark chocolate, etc. Whatever combination you use, just make sure to use 2 cups.

    • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips: I used semisweet chocolate chips, but use whatever you'd like.
    • ½ cup white chocolate chips: This adds a creamy sweetness to the bars.
    • ½ cup peanut butter: I used creamy because that's what I had on hand, but crunchy would be fantastic.
    • 1 ½ cups Rice Krispies cereal

How To Make Homemade Crunch Bars

Line a small baking sheet or 9x13" baking pan with parchment paper. Set aside.

Add chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and peanut butter to a microwave-safe bowl.

Heat in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.

    Stir in cereal.

Spread mixture onto parchment paper. If using a baking sheet larger than 9x13 just spread the mixture out into a 9x13" rectangle, about ¼" thick.

Refergerate for 30 minutes then cut into bars.

If your kitchen isn’t too warm you can store these in a container at room temperature, but I prefer keeping them in the refrigerator.
