I’m working on compiling a cookbook of easy slow cooker recipes as a graduation gift for the high school seniors that I work with in our church’s youth group. These buffalo chicken sandwiches went to the top of my list of recipes to include! An oldie, but goodie. One of the easiest sandwiches to make on a busy day!
Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches
I love the simplicity of these buffalo chicken sandwiches. Spicy, delicious and oh so easy to make. Drizzle your sandwich with extra ranch dressing before devouring. Trust me!
Ingredients
- boneless chicken breasts
- wing sauce
- ranch seasoning mix
- butter
- buns
- ranch or blue cheese dressing
Best Wing Sauce
There are several brands of wing sauce that’s we’ve tried over the years. Our favorite is Texas Pete. Just remember that wing sauce and hot sauce are two completely different things. You’ll want to pick up a bottle of WING SAUCE for this recipe. Wing sauce is smoother, with butter, while hot sauce is basically just hot peppers, vinegar and salt.
How To Make Slow Cooker Shredded Buffalo Chicken
Add everything into your slow cooker and cook on LOW for 5-6 hours. When I’m making recipes using bbq sauce or wing sauce, I prefer to cook on low the entire time to avoid changing the flavor of the sauce.
Shred chicken after 5 hours and place back into the slow cooker to soak up all of the delicious juices. Add more sauce to taste then pile chicken onto buns, drizzle in ranch dressing and serve!
Homemade Bun Recipes
You can serve these on hoagie buns, hamburger buns or make sliders using our pretzel roll recipe! These are always a hit with our kids and taste just like pretzel bites! Don’t forget to brush with butter and sprinkle with kosher salt. YUM.
