Everything is more fun in cute shapes, right? These chocolate chip cookies are my favorite. I use this recipe for my cookie skillet recipe, my deep dish cookies, and my jumbo cookies. It only made sense to try making them in cute shapes. These heart-shaped chocolate cookies are so fun for Valentine's Day. Package them up in a cute box or treat bag to give to a friend, teacher, or sweetheart. Add them to school lunches or have them as an after-school snack. Delicious.

You might wonder how I got such perfectly shaped cookies. They are actually made in silicone baking molds. They come in a set of 2 (each tray makes 6) making it easy to bake up a dozen at a time. You can form them into shapes on a baking sheet, but they will likely spread and won't be uniform in shape so I highly recommend a set of these baking molds. Super easy and you can use them for so many things.

You can also find heart-baking pans at Dollar Tree right now. They are metal and have 6 cavities. I haven't tried using them, but the dimensions appear to be very similar in size to my silicone set.

    Heart Chocolate Chip Cookies Ingredients

Dry Ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Wet ingredients: butter, white sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, egg.

The best ingredients: chocolate chips. I use a combination of milk chocolate chips and semisweet chocolate chips, but you can use whatever kind you'd like.

How To Make Heart-Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cream butter and sugars. Add vanilla and egg. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.

Use a medium cookie scoop (2 Tbsp.) to scoop cookies into heart shape baking molds. Press down with your fingers to slightly flatten each cookie dough ball.

Bake at 375 degrees for 12-13 minutes, or until the tops are lightly golden.

Now, don't skip this part. Allow cookies to COOL COMPLETELY before removing them from the molds. Once the cookies are cool, use a butter knife to loosen up the edges. This makes it a breeze to remove the cookies.

This recipe makes 18 heart chocolate chip cookies, but you can EASILY double the recipe to make more.

Hi Becky: Could I roll the dough out, bake it and cut the heart shaped cookies while still warm?

I haven’t tried that before, but it might be worth a shot! The cookies are very soft while warm so I’d imagine you could quickly cut the sheet of cookies into hearts.

I made these this afternoon, YUM! I did use butter flavored shortening instead of butter, (as I always do for chocolate chip cookies) and they’re great. The heart silicone molds are darling and the cookies turned out fantastic.
