Butterfingers are one of my favorite treats, and these homemade Butterfingers are kind of dangerous. I don't care for candy corn, but I'll buy a couple of bags during Halloween season just so that I can make these!

I'm not even sure where the original recipe came from, but the recipe is all over the place nowadays and for good reason. It's been 12 years since I originally shared how I make homemade butterfingers, and they are still a hit!

    Why I Like This Recipe

    • Easy to make. Who knew that you could melt candy corn in the microwave? No candy thermometer, stove, or tempering is involved to make this homemade candy!
    • Simple ingredients. Peanut butter, chocolate, and candy corn. That's it!
    • They are a unique treat. Candy corn + peanut butter. Such a unique combination of ingredients.

    What Others Are Saying

I have never been a fan of Butterfingers, but after you posted this, I decided to make it anyway. They are DELICIOUS!!! They taste just like Butterfingers but better. My husband loves these! So easy to make, so inexpensive, and so yummy! We will definitely be making these again, and I plan on making them to give out as small Christmas gifts. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!---Traci

    Tips and Tricks

    1. How to clean melted candy corn from the bowl. The candy corn needs to be melted down in a microwave-safe bowl. After you pour the mixture into a baking dish to cool, make sure to soak the bowl in warm soapy water. This will make cleaning the bowl a bit easier.
    2. Use caution with the hot mixture. The melted candy corn will be hot. Use caution when removing the bowl from the microwave and mixing the peanut butter into the hot mixture.
    3. Line the baking dish with parchment paper. Parchment paper makes it a breeze to remove the butterfingers from the baking dish when cutting and dipping them in chocolate.

     Ingredients

Bowl of candy corn, jar of peanut butter, and bowl of chocolate chips.

If you can remember 16 oz. You can easily memorize this recipe. You'll need 16 ounces of each ingredient.
