Lip Gloss Ornaments Are a Fun Gift For Teens!

Modified: Jun 7, 2025 · Published: Oct 23, 2019 by Brandy · This post may contain affiliate links.

These lip gloss ornaments come together in just minutes and are so fun to give to teens and tweens during the holidays! They're a hit at gift exchanges, too! And don't stop there. They would be so fun to tie onto a gift all year long. Add one to a birthday gift, give as party favors at a slumber party or birthday party or make and give as secret sister gifts at Girl's Camp! Coming up with cute little gifts to spoil the girls that I work with at church is just about one of my favorite things. I work with the 14-15 year old girls and they are such a sweet and fun group. I love finding ways to use plastic ornaments. Did you seen the ornament penguins that we made last year? How about these Rudolph ornament gifts that I made for the 6 year olds that I taught at church two years ago? You can also fill them with hot cocoa mix, the possibilities are endless!

Thinking back to what I adored when I was 14 years old it was kind of a no-brainer. I was ALL ABOUT Bonne Bell cosmetics and Lip Smacker lip gloss so that is the direction I took and how these lip gloss ornaments came to be. I found 10 packs of Lip Smacker lip gloss on clearance after Christmas at Target last year so I bought two packages to keep on hand for gifts they were just the right size to fit inside a clear Christmas ornament. Even when they aren't on sale you can usually find them for about $1/tube which is also very affordable.

I found these dome ornaments at Oriental Trading. I liked them because they were unique in shape and the backs are flat. They open easily to fill with goodies, then close with a simply double knot tied on the string used for hanging. They came in a package of 12 for under $5. I also found packages of Itty Bitty pom poms that were too colorful to pass up. They made the perfect filler for the lip gloss ornaments.

Step 3: Cut a length of baker's twine and tie a double knot to keep the ornament closed. Tie another knot on the other end for hanging.

Step 4: Add a tiny piece of clear tape to each side seam. (This is optional, but will ensure it doesn't open if accidentally dropped)

Wouldn't these be fun tied onto a gift or used as party favors any time of year? They don't have to be limited to Christmas! Maybe secret sister gifts at summer camp? The options are endless!
