Hot cocoa mix, ice, and milk blend together for this delicious and creamy frozen hot cocoa! Top with whipped cream and cocoa powder.

Frozen Hot Cocoa

Frozen hot cocoa is just about the yummiest oxymoron out there. When the temps begin to drop we set up a hot cocoa station that stays out until February. Nothing beats a warm cup of cocoa—but there is just something about this frosty cup that makes it a special winter treat, too!
It’s as simple as 3 ingredients.
clear mug of frozen hot cocoa on red, black and white hand towel

Frozen Hot Chocolate Ingredients

  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 c. ice
  •  1 packet (or 3 heaping Tablespoons) hot cocoa mix
  • whipped cream (optional)
  • cocoa powder (optional)
Combine ice, milk and hot cocoa mix into a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into a mug and add a large dollop of whipped cream. Sprinkle with cocoa powder for dusting.

Hot Cocoa Add-Ins

Have fun customizing your cocoa! You can add a spoonful of peanut butter into the blender, mini chocolate chips, or even crushed candy canes on top! Enjoy in the summer or winter!

This year I filled the jar with petite sour hearts after hearing how amazing they are from @triedandtruemoms. They were right, we are all fans over here! Maybe more places will stock them now that they are in such demand. I ordered mine from @candynationusa (don’t waste your time looking on Amazon. They are charging twice as much for less candy).

Tip: when buying produce, buy extra to freeze. I buy an extra pineapple, an extra package of grapes, an extra bunch of bananas and an extra bag of spinach and freeze them for smoothies. I slice everything up and freeze it on baking sheets then bag it up. It makes it easy to grab a handful to toss into a blender. You can freeze entire bags of spinach too and add a handful to smoothies. I always blend my spinach and water first then add the rest of the fruit. No little spinach chunks in the smoothie that way. 🙌🏻

Tomorrow is all about gingerbread cookies for Sant Tomorrow is all about gingerbread cookies for Santa (although the Santa who comes to our house prefers sugar cookies. He can share these with Mrs. Claus). Ruby has them all picked out—-gingerbread boys, gingerbread girls, and ninja-bread cookies. Should be fun. Had to go out and get more molasses and it wasn’t easy to find! Everyone else must be making gingerbread, too!
