Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix + Mexican Dinner Ideas

Make your own taco seasoning from ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry. Easy and delicious and you can customize it any way you'd like! This homemade taco seasoning is delicious on ground turkey or beef in our double decker tacos and taco ring!

Taco seasoning isn't expensive to purchase at the store, but it's so easy to make at home that if you ever run out, you can whip up a batch in 3 minutes or less. It's also fun to customize it yourself. Are you a big cumin fan? Add an extra pinch. Not a fan of heat? Lessen the pepper flakes. It's easy to make your own blend for tacos, fajitas or taco soup!

    Ingredients in Taco Seasoning

This recipe for taco seasoning calls for oregano and other basic ingredients like garlic powder, chili powder (of course), onion powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. I found this recipe on Allrecipes.com and adjusted it to our family's preference after making it a few times.
If you are going to go to the effort to make 1 batch, why not double or triple it and save the rest for another meal? Taco seasoning will keep for quite a while in an air-tight container, just like any other spice blend.  If you have a spice bottle that is almost empty, use the rest of it in this recipe, then fill it with homemade taco seasoning.

      5 stars
Hi everyone, Brandy here, and I've been using this mix for years. I make a large jar and keep it in my pantry and it's so easy to use. Tastes just as good, even better, than storebought mix.
