This chicken and noodles recipe is one of our family favorites. First shared with me by my cousin, Bre. She got it from Belle of the Kitchen. We've made adjustments to it over the years, and have made it so many times that I have the recipe memorized. So delicious.

bowl of chicken and noodles sprinkled with parsley

I'm working on a project for the teens that I work with at church. As each one graduates high school they will receive their own slow cooker and a cookbook filled with recipes from the ladies at church. It's been a great opportunity for me to go through my recipe binder and website and update some of my older recipes and a few new ones!

I knew this recipe had to be included. It uses basic ingredients, reheats well and is a budget-friendly meal.

spoonful of chicken and noodles sprinkled with parsley

Slow Cooker Chicken and Noodles Ingredients

    • 2 lbs. chicken breasts or thighs (about 3 breasts)
    • 2 cans cream of chicken soup
    • 4 cups chicken broth
    • 3 Tbsp. butter
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ¼ teaspoon pepper
    • ½ teaspoon poultry seasoning
    • 8 oz. wide egg noodles

This recipe looks very delicious, but I have a question about the amount if egg noodles. Is 8 oz really 4 - 5 cups - as stated in parenthesis in the list of ingredients?

I buy a 16 oz bag and use about half of it. I eyeball it.

I’d like to know if the noodles are cooked separately from everything, THEN placed in the crockpot? Your recipe doesn’t call for the noodles to be cooked separately, in just verifying what is posted!
          Thanks

Nope! Just add the dry noodles to the crockpot.
