    Turkey Donuts

Talk about EASY! These turkey donuts take 30 seconds to assemble and are a great kitchen activity for kids. Make them for a Thanksgiving breakfast, class party, or afternoon activity. If you're feeling ambitious you can make your own donuts, but I wasn't feeling ambitious and picked up a dozen glazed donuts from the grocery store.

I saw this idea in a private FB group that I'm in. One of the members said her nephew made one at preschool and snapped a photo of it as a fun idea to make with kids. I knew my kids would love them too and I was right. They thought these were hilarious!

The hardest part is finding candy corn in November! You'd think you'd still find it on all of the end caps at the store, but it wasn't easy, ha! Look through your candy from Halloween to see if you have a few pieces. You only need 6 pieces of candy per donut.

    Turkey Donut Ingredients

    • 1 glazed donut
    • 1 donut hole
    • 6 pieces of candy corn
    • 2 candy eyes

These are pretty self-explanatory. Since the donuts are already sticky you don't need frosting or royal icing to attach the candy to the donut unless you plan on transporting the donuts.

    1. Simply warm the donut and donut hole up in the microwave for 5-8 seconds. This makes it even more sticky.
    2. Place a donut hole on top of the donut.
    3. Add candy corn candies behind the donut hole for the feathers.
    4. Add 2 candy eyes and a candy corn beak to the donut hole for the face!

If you don't have candy eyes you can use mini M&Ms or mini chocolate chips! No candy corn? Add rows of colorful M&Ms behind the donut hole and orange frosting for the beak.
