DIY Candy Cane Holders
I mean, come on. These guys are so quirky and fun. You know how much I love to sew, but I opted to use hot glue this time and have no regrets. These candy cane holders come together in about 15 minutes start to finish. So quick and easy. Make sure to watch my video for the best visual tutorial. I show how to make ALL 3 designs!
Each figure holds 2 full-size candy canes. They double as the arms and legs for the snowman, gingerbread man, and Santa. Which one is your favorite?

- Printable Cutting Template
- Felt scraps
- Hot glue gun/glue
- Scissors
- Candy Canes (full size)
(Santa Felt Pieces)
(Gingerbread Man Felt Pieces)
(Snowman Felt Pieces)
See that gap in the glue? That is where the candy canes will slide in. MAKE SURE TO NOT GLUE this area closed. You will also NOT glue across the bottom.
Feel free to get creative with the details! I used fabric glue, but you can hand stitch the details, add buttons, ribbon, or anything you’d like!

No Sew Felt Candy Cane Holders
Equipment
- scissors
- hot glue gun (and hot glue sticks)
Materials
- FREE Cutting Template
- felt scraps
- fabric paint
- 2 candy canes
Instructions
- Use our printable template as a guide for cutting out your felt pieces. We'll make a Santa candy cane holder together, but the process for the snowman and gingerbread man are the same.NOTE: For the BEST visual, watch our step by step video. I show how to make ALL 3 designs!
- Glue the face felt piece to one of the Santa body pieces.Add a circle of hot glue around the edge for the beard.
- Glue the beard, mustache and nose onto Santa.
- Glue the hat, brim and hat pom pom.Glue the belt, and belt buckle pieces to the body.
- Use fabric paint to add eyes and any other details you'd like.
- Hot glue around the head and sides of the second Santa body piece. MAKE SURE to leave a 1/2" gap by the neck for the candy canes to slide through. (See photo)
- Place the top Santa piece on top of the bottom piece and press.Slide the bottom of a candy cane through the small gap near the neck. Repeat on the other side.

Notes
- You can machine stitch, hand sew, or glue these candy cane holders together. Gluing is the fastest and best method if making these for a crowd or making them with kids.
- Use fabric paint or hand stitch details.
