Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I always think it's a nice gesture for the kids to bring a little something to school for their teacher to show their gratitude to them before we take the week off to spend as a family. I know I am grateful for all that they do for my children and the thought and preparation that they put into their lessons. The kids also think it is fun to bring in little gifts so I sat down one afternoon and made a few little boxes to fill with goodies. These 4.5"x4.5" boxes are perfect for so many things and come together using basic card stock paper. I even created a printable template that you can use to make a few for yourself.

2 pieces of card stock for each box

    scoring tool

    tag

cellophane or small piece of clear plastic lining

    1. Cut your card stock to size. Cut and score solid/dotted lines as shown on template.

    2. Fold side flaps in and secure with double sided tape.

This finishes the bottom of the box.

    3. Repeat step 1 for the top of the box using the other sheet of card stock.

    4. Before taping the sides of the top of the box, cut out a 3.5" x 3.5" square from the center to make a window.

    5. Tape a small piece of cellophane or plastic lining to the underside.

    6. Fold sides up and secure with double sided tape.

The top of the box slides over the bottom of the box and you are finished!

I'm a big sweet and salty fan! Pretzels and chocolate, sea salt caramels, etc. I kept things nice and easy by picking up a few bags of Chocolate Wavy Lays while I was at Target the other day. A 5 oz. bag is the perfect size to fill one of these boxes.

Tie with bakers twine and add a little thank you note to the top. Wouldn't these make great treat boxes for any holiday? Just swap out the paper for something to match the season!

Lay's Wavy chocolate covered potato chips come in 3 varieties; Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, and Milk Chocolate with Almond Bits.  I purchased all 3 since they are only available for a limited time.

They are highly addicting, so go ahead and get a bag for yourself while you are at it!

This is such a creative idea. I never thought to make my own gift box from card stop, but it really doesn't look too difficult. And it's the perfect container to gift these sweet and salty treats!
