St. Patrick’s Day Party for Kids!

Filed Under: Holidays, Kids Crafts, Kids in the Kitchen, Parties, St. Patrick's Day

We don’t have much planned for St. Patrick’s Day decor because we don’t really care about it! BUT…we like the fun little activities that come with the green day, and last year, before Aaron started preschool, we hosted a party for all of his little church friends at our house. It was a lot of fun, and Aaron was thrilled to have everyone over for a fun-filled “green” day!

 He made his own decorations…
child arranging fruit into rainbow shape
and helped me put together this fruit rainbow for a snack. Each child brought a snack to share as well.

Not only was it pretty to look at, it tasted awesome too.
child wearing green hat and bow tie
There was lots of green attire…
child making leprechaun craft
and fun St. Patrick’s day themed crafts. I cut out a bunch of little leprechauns out of the cricut “Paperdoll” cartridge and the children glued them together.

Then they all went on a treasure hunt to find the pot of gold.
5 kids playing pot of gold game
That lead them to these fun little “pots of gold” that I ordered from Oriental Trading and filled with gold coins and rolos.
mini black pots with gold candy inside
Now he is in preschool and can have lots of fun little parties at school. Most of his friends are a few months older and are in kindergarten so they are all on different schedules, but we look back on these fun pre-preschool days with fond memories!

We do a St. Patricks Day family party night every year with games. It’s so much fun! We’ve done the fruit rainbow before, as well, only we use a cream cheese dip for the clouds. Although I think Ashley would be more excited about the marshmallows, so we may have to add that in this year, as well! Cute ideas! 🙂

This year I filled the jar with petite sour hearts after hearing how amazing they are from @triedandtruemoms. They were right, we are all fans over here! Maybe more places will stock them now that they are in such demand. I ordered mine from @candynationusa (don’t waste your time looking on Amazon. They are charging twice as much for less candy).

Today we made our favorite green smoothie. It’s all about balance—-just kidding. We all know that’s a lie. I have like 10 healthy recipes on my site and 800 breads and desserts. 😂

Tip: when buying produce, buy extra to freeze. I buy an extra pineapple, an extra package of grapes, an extra bunch of bananas and an extra bag of spinach and freeze them for smoothies. I slice everything up and freeze it on baking sheets then bag it up. It makes it easy to grab a handful to toss into a blender. You can freeze entire bags of spinach too and add a handful to smoothies. I always blend my spinach and water first then add the rest of the fruit. No little spinach chunks in the smoothie that way. 🙌🏻
