Make a pom pom key chain to accessorize your back pack this year! With a printable name tag that you can color, it is completely customizeable to your own unique style and personality!
My girls love to craft as much as I do. We are totally a match made in heaven, and I was excited to try out my new G2® Pens by Pilot Pen that I treated myself to from Target last week. I already use the blue and black pens on a regular basis and decided to upgrade to an 18 pack for a nice variety of bold and pastel colors. Every year teachers remind us to label our children’s school gear. These pom pom keychains are a darling way to do that and add a bit of personalized style at the same time! We even created printable tags that you can color and laminate!
Pom Pom Backpack Keychains: With Printable Name Tags That You Can Color
Needle Nose Pliers
Lobster Clasp (optional)
G2® Pens by Pilot Pen
Step 1. Cut a long length of embroidery thread. Tie one end onto a tassle (we found these at our local craft store, already attached to o-rings).
Step 2. Thread the other end of the embroiderty thread with needle, and string on as many pom poms as you’d like!
(Note: Ruby added a sparkly charm to her tassle above which is why it has a bit more bling than my example one.)
Step 3. Tie the thread into a knot. Then tie it onto an o-ring using a double knot. Cut the thread.
Step 4. Use the needle nose pliers to open the o-ring and attach to a key ring.
Step 5. Slide a lobster clasp onto the key ring. The lobster clasp is optional, but does make it easier for kids to attach the key ring to a backpack.
Step 6. Download and print the tags. Cut out a front and a back and color with gel pens.
Step 7. Attach the tags back to back with a glue dot or glue stick to create a double sided tag. Laminate then hole punch.
Step 8. Attach 2 o-rings using the pliers then attach the tag to the the pom pom strand!
I love how Kaylee added her own text to the binder paper clip art, haha! Yes, she is the best.
And that’s that! A darling way to label and add a bit of flare to a backpack all at the same time!
